Portfolio update: Commercial office reception

3D rendering of proposed office interior.

Good morning!

This week’s update features a recently-completed pitch scheme for the redesign of an office reception. Two concepts were prepared, this being the second, and used a broadly similar palette with differences coming from the arrangement of furniture and the design of the reception desk as well as the proportions of materials used in relation to one another and the alternative presentation. Clearly, both schemes aimed for a truly opulent look and feel and achieved this by using dark stained timber, African mahogany and granite, as well as leathers and decal details of client-specific cultural elements, not to mention lowered ceiling rafts with ‘hidden’ lighting which washed up onto the main ceiling.

This project also featured – as mentioned in an earlier blog post – some experimentation with VRay parameters which are still ongoing but have produced some truly pleasing results and the platform from which Click3D’s bespoke settings – or, rather, evolved – will be based. That said, no paid-for project should ever be used for experimentation unless the client requests as much; the changes made here were not wholesale by any means – hence the reference to evolution – and largely enabled a more in-depth understanding of how the many options within Chaos Group’s product interlink and the results and ramifications thereon.
